Losing the ability to walk often comes with losing your independence. Some of these limitations are unavoidable, but some are due to poor design of the wheelchair. Many people have difficulty finding the strength to physically roll themselves, and a common problem is needing assistance in the bathroom. My focus was to reinstate independence in these areas by creating a more ergonomically effective way to propel the wheelchair forward, and eliminate the need to transfer from one seat to the other in the bathroom.
