I honestly thought that this project was going to be easy. I have no idea why. Perhaps I gained confidence after seamlessly drawing a pretty outline on Illustrator, but transferring an object from 2D to 3D is no joke. UsingĀ a solid slab of purple heart hardwood for the body, I cut the profile and pockets for the electronics using a CNC machine. Turns out, very tight tolerances for a musical instrument are imperative. I had to make a number of micro adjustments and alterations during the assembly process, but after testing and perfecting, it sounds like an actual rocking electric guitar. Who would have thought. Also, yes, the number of gold screws on the pickguard is totally unnecessary, yet totally necessary at the same time. You get what I mean.
